Health promotion days

Health promotion is important since it addresses and aims to improve major health challenges and concerns which are prevalent in our society. Societal trends show that chronic illness costs are rising, directly impacting on business efficiency and emphasizing a need to implement health promotion programmes. With sickness absence costing enterprises approximately £692 per employee5, ill health is rapidly becoming a problem that employers can no longer afford to ignore.

BMI Healthcare is offering to provide your employees with on-site mini health checks at times to suit you. The packages include some/all of the following:

  • Blood pressure check
  • Blood cholesterol level check
  • Blood glucose level check
  • Body mass index and body fat percentage check

How we work with you

Depending on the needs and size of your business, our hospital team can come on-site within your main offices to provide employees with one of the mini health check packages. This will reduce time away from the office while still maintaining the clinical standards and management associated with BMI Healthcare.

Each BMI mini health check will help to detect whether your employees may be at risk of developing cardiovascular disease, the UK’s single biggest killer. High blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes are all contributing factors to cardiovascular disease, affecting 1 in 3 people today.

It is clinically proven that early detection of conditions and diseases will enable earlier treatment and therefore a more effective management of disease leading to a healthier and more productive workforce.

Choose your package

Each health check will take approximately 5-10 minutes with a qualified nurse carrying out the test, providing individuals with a record of the results and offering the appropriate advice.

Blood pressure

During this mini health check a nurse will use an electronic blood pressure monitor to record blood pressure.

Blood cholesterol and glucose

To determine blood cholesterol and glucose levels, a finger prick test will be used with the nurse taking a small blood sample with a slight puncture to the finger. The results will be available after a minute or so.

Body mass index and body fat percentage

The nurse will measure height and weight and based on these results, calculate a body mass index. A body fat analysis machine will be used to determine body fat percentage.

All promotional and communication tools will be provided including; pre and post-event posters and a mini health check pull up banner. Giveaways are also supplied; these consist of a tape measure which helps to calculate body mass index and a BMI Healthcare syringe pen. We also provide all clinical equipment, so all you need to do is book a room!

We will work with you to develop an appropriate post communication recall and eligibility process depending on your particular needs. This can be produced utilizing a range of contact media (email, telephone or post) either managed by you or run by BMI.

Prices

Special corporate costs are available depending on the type and number of days booked.
